Swimming Pool Policies
Inclement Weather
Opening and/or closing the pool in the case of inclement weather will be at the discretion of the lifeguards in consultation with the general manager.
Guests and Fees
Members and their guests must register before entering the pool area. Members will be billed for their guests on their monthly statements or can elect to pay cash at the time of registration. Each guest who resides within a 50-mile radius of Athens is limited to six visits per season and must be accompanied by a member. Visiting family members and guests of ACC members who reside within a 50-mile radius of Athens must pay guest fees. Visiting family members or guests of ACC members who reside outside a 50-mile radius of Athens may use the pool as non-paying guests. The guest fee is $5 per person per day.
Bringing grandchildren to the club pool
Grandchildren, age 12 and under, may use the club pool free of charge when with a member-grandparent. Grandchildren, age 13 and over, may use the club pool at a guest fee of $5 per visit when with a member-grandparent. The limit of six visits per season will be waived for grandchildren. And all grandchildren MUST be accompanied by the grandparent-member unless the member-grandparent is the legal guardian.
Babysitters/Nannies
Babysitters are responsible to watch and care for the memberŐs child while at the ACC pool and may use the pool as non-paying guests while accompanying a memberŐs child under the age of 12. All baby sitters must be 13 years old or older. All members are to notify the office of designated babysitters/nannies and provide emergency contact information for the babysitter and child for our record. Any person accompanying an adult member as a babysitter will be considered a guest and charged the guest fee.
Children Age Restrictions
All children under the age of 8 must be accompanied by an adult or babysitter/nanny. All children 8-12 years of age must pass the swim test administered by the lifeguard to be able to swim in the pool unaccompanied by an adult. Any child 8-12 years of age, who has not passed the swim test, must be accompanied by an adult or adult babysitter/nanny.
Lifeguards
The pool may not be used in the absence of a qualified lifeguard unless special arrangements have been made with the general manager. Lifeguards take a 15 minute break ever hour. Only adults and pool staff are permitted to be in the pool during the lifeguardŐs break time.
Attire
Appropriate swimming attire should be determined by the rules of decorum and good taste. Swimming attire is not permitted on the second floor of the clubhouse or on the golf course. Paper diapers are not permitted in the swimming pool.
Horseplay
"Horseplay" or obstreperous conduct of any kind is not permitted. No running is permitted in the pool area or shower house.
Food & Beverage
Any food or beverage consumed in the pool area must be purchased at the Club, either at the concession stand or at the clubhouse.
Intoxicants
Persons under the influence of intoxicants will not be permitted in the pool area.
Pool Toys
Toys, balls, and/or other recreational equipment are permitted at the discretion of the lifeguard.
Diving
Diving in the shallow end of the pool is not permitted.
Trash
The staff will police the pool area and dispose of trash as necessary; however, everyone is asked to place trash, beverage and containers, etc., in the trashcans when possible and convenient.
Enforcing Violations
The lifeguard and/or general manager has the authority to remove any person in violation of these rules and the Board may suspend pool privileges for repeated violations.
Pool Parties
Pool parties may be arranged by contacting the food & beverage manager, chef, or general manager. All such requests are subject to the approval of the general manager.
